Café de La Crème: Feel Like a Baddie at these cute Coffee Spots in LA

For all my babes in LA who’re looking for tiny ways to treat themselves daily, a new coffee spot is a pretty casual way to start. Whether we wanna spark main character energy with a pick me up during rising walks, find a new place to work, or a new meetup with the girls, how many local coffee shops are on every street or corner that you pass thinking “I need to check this place out,” and never actually do it?

And now that we’re boycotting Starbucks, isn’t this the perfect opportunity to support your local coffee biz?

To help flame that main magic, here are a few options around the city of angels to check out next time you outside:

  1. The Hilltop Coffee + Kitchen

Co-founded by actress + mogul Issa Rae, the Hilltop is a local franchise kind of coffee vibe and when I say vibe, I mean viiiibe. The shop/ kitchen is very earthy, but with a luxurious energy, bar with lots of space to dine or work; relaxing for students, regulars or any kind of date. The food is so BOMB, I’ve enjoyed the Bangin’ Breakfast sandwich, Drop Top Avocado and the Lox. I’m obsessed with iced lavender lattes.

2. The Palm Coffee Bar

A lil’ pink tropical paradise on Magnolia in Burbank, The Palm is perfect for any boss bitches who need a new “work from home” space, do any influencing, spend time with a small group of your girls, or making a change in your main character story by trying a new aesthetically cute atmosphere. Along with rose and lavender flavors, the Palm’s specialty drinks like the Cinnamon Toast Crunch will start your day off on a sweet note! Did I mention they have a whole photo booth in the back?

3. Lavender + Honey

Over the hills and through Pasadena, is a cute lil’ boutique coffee bar with a modern flair in the outside but with just a touch of floral cottage home to their bar for coffee, hot chocolate, tea, lemonade and a small menu of brunch treats. It’s their Brown Sugar Latte for me!

4. Federal Coffee

If pink coffee shops exist, aren’t we all just livin’ in a Barbie world? On the corner of Federal Ave + Pico Blvd, our second pink shop is an outdoor spot that’s mini luxury friendly with dining tables + chairs so you that melanin can be kissed by the sun, a wall perfect for photos, snack on Parisian pastries, sip pink lattes and all while being POC owned? Sign me upppp.

5. The Amp Coffee

Sitting on a street of a string of local + big business in the NoHo Arts District, the Amp is both a minimal coffee shop and studio/ rental space; perfect for musicians + the musically inclined, college students, and other artists/ influencers who need a space to craft or create content on the regular. One thing that definitely pops out is their black/ white murals of Sade (on the inside) and Miles Davis (outside). Try their iced Honey Vanilla Latte- the syrup is house made. Yummmmm.
